UpDate

It is hard to believe but I haven't updated my blog in a month. So, I thought I would give an update this morning. I trust everyone had a good Thanksgiving and I know everyone had plenty to eat and lots of fun time with our families. The Lord has truly blessed each and everyone of us.

The girls and I left the house at 3:15am on Friday morning to go to the stores in Hickory for their early morning shopping. We had alot of fun and we were back in Taylorsville by 10 am to drop Lydia off at the Bank where she works. We got some great deals and even had time to stop at CVS and get alot of their early morning deals

We actually had Thanksgiving Dinner on Friday evening. All of my husband's family came and ate with us. I think I counted 22 people that evening. It was a good evening with lots of games and talking. I would post photo's but the camera's batteries were dead.

Saturday morning we took a group of Teen Girls to Concord Mills and spent the day. Janie and I had alot of fun shopping with them. We tried on loads of purfume and lotion. I think we went into about every store there. We got Back in time for Anthony's birthday party.

We had good services yesterday at Church. We are practicing for our Christmas Play and it is coming along well. The younger kids are doing great on their singing. Our Play is the Sunday before Christmas and we still have alot of practicing left to do.

We will be starting back to school today and Grace has been studying alot. She had 2 Tests that she will be taking this month and next. She is trying to get everything ready for College this next school year.

Hannah fell 3 weeks ago and broke her left arm. She has 2 weeks left until we go back to the dr. again and they talked like they will put a splint on it then. She was in alot of pain the first week but she has been fine since. She is left-handed so we had to write for her until she could do it.

Well I guess I had better go for now and finish the ironing. Have a wonderful day!!!

Don't Be Neutral

A man without opinion is without courage. Jesus said, "He that is not with me is against me."

The people of Meroz were cursed because they tried to remain neutral in the day of battle (judges 5)

Born-again Christians have a fearful responsibility in this day. To be neutral is impossible. Our enemies come from two primary sources:

1. From without-Acts 20:29. This refers to modernism, apostates, blood-deniers, do-gooders and all unchristian forces. These forces are tearing away at New Testament Christianity.

2. From within-Acts 20:30. These are out for their own glory. With them it is not a matter of doing God's will, but it is a matter of having their own way.

No matter how many lies they must tell or how many innocent people get involved, no matter how many people are hardened and caused to backslide, no matter how many children are hurt, no matter how much the cause of worldwide evangelism is hurt of the cause of Christ in any way is hurt, such men (and women) are going to have their own way, come what may!

They will continue until God cuts them down! In this conjunction, remember that the wheels of God grind slowly but exceedingly fine! Our city has plenty of this kind, as do all cities and towns! Such men and women, according to the Scriptures, will pay dearly. Of this there can be no doubt.

No true Christian can join with or be a friend to any individual or organization that runs contrary to the Bible. We are led by the Bible and the Holy Spirit and not by personalities, emotionalism or personal desire.

Remember, Paul's picture of a Christian is that of a militant soldier, not that of a fawning, gossiping, cowardly, lying, tattling, backbiting, discord-sowing, preacher-hating, compromising neutralist!

You can't have the Gospel in your heart and gossip in your mouth!

New Every Morning
~
Yes, "new every morning,"
though we may awake,
Our hearts with old sorrow
beginning to ache;
With old work unfinished
when night stayed our hand;
With new duties waiting,
unknown and unplanned;
With old care still pressing,
to fret and to vex;
With new problems rising,
our minds to perplex;
In ways long familiar,
in paths yet untrod;
Oh, new every morning
the mercies of God!
His faithfulness fails not,
it meets each new day;
New guidance for every
new step of the way;
New grace for new trials,
new trust for old fears;
New patience for bearing
the wrongs of the years;
New strength for new burdens,
new courage for old;
New faith for whatever
the day may unfold;
As fresh for each need
as the dew on the sod;
Oh, new every morning
the mercies of God!

Lydia's High School Graduation

Lydia's Senior Pictures

~
On May 17, Lydia graduated. She has completed 12 years of Home-Schooling.
We started home-schooling her while we lived in Londonderry, Northern Ireland.
(We were missionaries in Northern Ireland for twelve years.)
We were privileged to have Bro. Mark Bradfield and his wife Monica from Londonderry, Northern Ireland, here for Lydia's Graduation. Bro. Mark and Monica were with us for a few days and we enjoyed their visit. Bro. Mark is the pastor of Bethel Baptist Church in Londonderry, where we were at for 7 years. They were a blessing and Bro. Mark spoke at the Graduation and preached at our church on May 18.
Lydia is now doing internship at our local bank in town and she loves it. Here are photos taken after the ceremony..
