I was up before 7 a.m. this morning and it is such a beautiful day outside. It is just right for my husband to mow the grass and clean up the yard. We are having Lydia,Grace and Greg's birthday party here tonight. Everyone will want to play a game of volleyball:)
Hannah and I will be flying up to Syracuse, N.Y. on Monday. My sister has been in the hospital for Nearly 2 weeks and got out on Wednesday afternoon. She had the flu, pnemonia, and her sugar level went up to 1800. She didn't know she was a diabetic, she is on insulin 4 times a day now. So, we are going up to spend time with her and the family, we will be flying home on Saturday. Keep us in your prayers.
My husband preached for Bro. Steve at their Tuesday night service. The title of the sermon was " Pass the Salt" the verse was Matthew 5:13. He will be preaching for Bro. Jim in the Morning Service and back to our home church for the evening service.
The girls had a good birthday. Lydia received 2 flower arrangements for her 16th birthday, she told me later that she was wanting flowers and the Lord answered her prayer! They get their presents tonight at the party. We thank the Lord for our girls, they are a blessing to us.
My husband's great uncle died on Thursday night. He and his parents went down to see the family last night. We just got word that his wife died last night, she was sick with cancer. They are not in pain any longer. Thank the Lord they are both in Heaven. They will have the funeral for them on Monday.
Well I guess I'd better go and get things ready for the party. Hannah and I will have to pack, we went yesterday to get what Lydia and Grace needed for the meals. They will be taking care of their dad and the animals while we are gone. Take care and have a good week. I will be posting when Hannah and I return.

God Wants a Man
God wants a man-honest and true and brave;
A man who hates the wrong and loves the right;
A man who scorns all compromise and sin,
Who for the truth courageously will fight.
God wants a man-in lowly walk or high,
Who to the world by daily life wil prove
That Christ abides within the yielded heart,
Fitting that heart for service and for love.
God wants a man who dares to tell the truth,
Who in the market-place will stand four-square;
Whose word men trust-a man who never stoops
To hurt his fellow or to act unfair.
God wants a man of action and of faith,
Whose life is something more than cant and talk;
Who lives each day as though it were his last,
And proves his faith by a consistent walk.
A surprise awaited us this week when we bought the local Taylorsville Times newspaper. Lydia spotted her dad's name and here it is.

I read this little story today,
An art enthusiast in New York had on the walls of his office
an outstanding collection of etchings, including one of the
Leaning Tower of Pisa. For a long time he noticed that it
persisted in hanging crooked, despite the fact that he straightened
it every morning. At last he spoke to the lady who
cleaned up the room each night, asking her if she was responsible
for its lopsided condition. "Why, yes," she said, "I have
to hang it crooked to make the tower hang straight!" In the
same fashion some twist the Scriptures in order to justify their
own opinions or to make their imperfect lives appear right.
Let us beware of thus deceitfully handling the Word of God,
for to distort its meaning in order to fit our preconceived
ideas is a dangerous practice and a terrible sin.

My husband preached a sermon called "Meet God before you meet the devil" at Cherry Grove Baptist during their revival. And I had been thinking about the title since then. And so the Fox family wrote this short poem.
Meet God First!
Meet God in the morning,
before you start your day.
Meet Him in the quiet place,
as you kneel and pray.
Spend time in the Bible,
see what God has to say.
When the devil comes to tempt you,
you can send him on his way.

If the Christ who died had stopped at the cross
His work had been incomplete,
If the Christ who was buried had stayed in the tomb
He had only known defeat;
But the way of the cross never stops at the cross,
and the way of the tomb leads on,
To victorious grace in the heavenly place
Where the risen Lord has gone.
