Tonight is Hannah's birthday party. Here is one of the recipes I have made for it:)
-
Cornbread Salad
-
1 (16 ounce) package corn bread mix
10 slices bacon
1 (1 ounce) package ranch dressing mix (I used fiesta ranch)
1 1/2 cups sour cream
1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
2 (15 ounce) cans pinto beans, drained
3 tomatoes, chopped
1 cup chopped green bell pepper
1 cup chopped green onion
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
2 (11 ounce) cans whole kernel corn, drained
DIRECTIONS
Prepare corn bread according to package directions. Cool, crumble, and set aside.
Place bacon in a large deep skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Drain, crumble, and set aside.
Whisk together the dressing mix, sour cream, and mayonnaise.
Crumble half the corn bread in the bottom of a large serving dish. Top with half the beans. Layer the beans with half of the tomatoes, green bell pepper, and green onions. Sprinkle with half the cheese, corn, bacon, and the salad dressing mixture. Repeat the layers. Cover, and chill at least 2 hours before serving.

Happy Birthday!!!!

It was Hannah's 11th birthday today. I am posting some pictures of her when she was little and what she looks like today. We took her to the park today and she played in the creek with Grace. We met up at Wendy's with her Mamaw,Papaw, Amanda and the boys.

We went tonight and heard Dr. Joe Arthur and he preached out of Acts 27:29 about the 4 anchors. It was an encouraging message.
Here are the pictures!!!!

Hello from Taylorsville

We are back online now!! We just got our computer this week. We have completed our mission work in Northern Ireland and we are back in NC now. We enjoyed our 12 years there and thank the Lord for the open doors we had there. We know the Lord will guide us in His will in the days ahead. We thank the Lord for Bro. Mark and Bro. Stan and their churches. Please keep them in your prayers.
We are living in Taylorsville, it is where my husband is from. We are living in a house that my husband's parents own. It has 3 bedrooms and a very big yard in the back. We have met our neighbors.
The girls are doing well on their school and they are looking forward to the summer break. Lydia has been playing the piano at church while our pastor's wife has been sick. Allen has been preaching at several churches in the area. Allen has been giving out alot of Spanish tracts. He also got to talk to some Mormons on Thursday.
Well better go for now and I will leave with a poem I have read recently.
----
My hand in God's.
-
Each morning when I wake I say,
"I place my hand in God's today";
I know He will walk close by my side
My every wandering step to guide.
He leads me with the tenderest care
When paths are dark and I despair-
No need for me to understand
If I but hold fast to His hand.
My hand in His! No surer way
To walk in safety through each day.
By His great bounty I am fed:
Warmed by His love, and comforted.
When at day's end I seek my rest
And realize how much I'm blessed,
My thanks pour out to Him; and then
I place my hand in God's again.
